Well, I suppose I should start this off with a little about myself. My name is Rachel & I'm a 22 year old college student. I am studying Interior Design at the University of Florida, a decision that has on numerous occasions caused me to question my sanity (the design part, not UF. Although truth be told, I still bleed blue for the Kentucky Wildcats!!!) But who wouldn't love late nights, little sleep and working thorough school vacations?! During the school year I don't have a lot of free time (which will become apart at the end of the summer, because the frequency of the posts will decrease significantly; I apologize in advance :) But enough on that for now. Although my blog is titled Studio Days & Studio Nights, I do not plan of using it to vent... in fact, it is quite the contrary. I am simply the last grown female in my family to start a blog. My mother, aunt and grandmother have all become blog aficionados, and I thought this might be a convenient way to keep everyone up to date.
I did actually start this blog at the beginning of the semester as a little something to entertain the studio girls during lighting class. But as you can see by my complete lack of posts, I was too busy actually paying attention to my professor to get it off the ground. That is the reasoning behind the title (it's kind of hard to get away from the idea of studio when I'm sitting in class).
And now, back to the reason for the blog. I suppose it has morphed from its original purpose of a joke, to something more. Perhaps an outlet for some of my creativity, or simply a way to keep up with far away family? You will all find out with me, since I myself do not know!
I am a great lover of quotes. A good quote speaks to the soul, it calms the heart and gives hope, inspiration or clarity, as needed. Often times when I am overwhelmed or stressed, I turn to a box of quotes that is the result of several years of collecting words. Scraps of paper that speak to me, point me in the right direction. I haven't planned on it but I will probably use quotes often in this blog. I love the idea that words spoken in a moment can become immortalized, frozen and shared long after.
And so tonight I will leave you with one of my current favorites... not particularly deep...but always fun!!
